Encouraged by Gianni Versace, the late Franco Moschino founded Moschino in 1983. He became famous for his bold, eccentric designs, gold chains, his use of colour and pop art inspired prints. He was a controversial character who criticised the fashion industry and used his collections as social awareness campaigns. Throughout the 80s and 90s, Moschino's message was 'love and peace' , continually seen in jewellery of that era.
